Bacterial Skin Infection - Impetigo

Baby were having some itchy time at her buttock for the past few days.

It started with a little rash like an insect bite. I rub in some oilment and treat it as normal insect bite. However, things become worst when three little blisters appeared around the first rash. Within one day, the blisters burst burst and leave small wet patches of red skin that weep fluid. Gradually, a tan or yellowish-brown crust covers the affected area, making it look like it has been coated with honey or brown sugar.

Babysitter told me that it might be herpes hence to the doctor we go.

Doctor diagnosed baby as having Impetigo. It is one of the most common bacterial skin infection among kids.

Baby was given mupirocin oilment and oral antibiotics. Hope that the infection will heals soon.
